We are very excited to offer this 4th annual event at Fort Ritchie. This is a great venue for multisport racing and will also be the host of the Fort Ritchie Triathlon!

DESCRIPTION:
Both the Olympic distance and Sprint distance Duathlons will start and end at Fort Ritchie in Cascade, MD.....just 20 minutes from Frederick, MD and Hagerstown, MD, and 90 minutes from Baltimore and DC. Fort Ritchie is an old military base that is being converted to a private residential community. The property is a beautiful venue for multisport racing and will also host the Fort Ritchie Triathlon the same day.
Race Limit: 800 participants
Start: The race will be a mass start, Sprint and Olympic together.
Run Course #1: The first 5K run will be a loop and will navigate through Fort Ritchie. Both the Sprint and Olympic races have the same course. Being on private property, vehicular traffic will be minimal if at all. The course has some slight elevation but is not difficult.
Bike Course: The bike course leaves Fort Ritchie and navigates through hills and valley on wide shoulders and low traffic country roads. The first section of the course is fast with a nice long down hill section. The second part of the course is rolling through the valley. The final section is a long gradual up hill. Sprint course is the the same without the middle valley section.
Run Course #2: The Sprint course is the same 5K as the first leg. The Olympic course is two loops of the same 5K course.
Transition Area: There is only one transition area for this event.
Timing: This event is chip timed! We will be providing race day results as well as split times that will be posted within 24 hours of the event.
